How Nike highlighted Scheffler’s biggest moments

Scheffler posted a new Instagram video on his handle, unveiling the pair of Nike shoes. Unlike his previous kicks, the Air Max Pro 1 is significant because it carries a handful of personal touches. Firstly, Scheffler went to Highland Park High School. Nike left a nice touch of that in the newly released kicks as well.

Scheffler, with palpable enthusiasm in his voice, revealed, The blue and the yellow, [these are] my high school colors. The high school Meredith (his girlfriend) and I went to. So, that’s a little story behind the shoe.” The famous Swoosh was painted green, a nod to Scheffler’s maiden Green Jacket. Big moment of our golf careers as well,” added Scheffler, talking about the Masters victory.

The apparel giant also hid a little easter-egg for Scheffler’s wife. Meredith is a tourist, so Nike etched the word in the outsole of the Air Max Pro 1. Scheffler added,We have a little surprise coming here in April. It’s also Meredith’s birthday… Thanks, Nike.

The kicks come with a padded low-cut collar, with a Max Air unit in the heel to offer lightweight cushioning and a Rubber Waffle outsole for durable traction.

You can also customize the colors and materials further per your choice. The Scheffler signature kicks come at a price of $170. This is surely a new chapter in Scheffler’s career, a move away from his previous kicks to a new shoe that carries his legacy.

Scottie Scheffler used to sport Tiger Woods-signature kicks

Scheffler has been a Nike golfer since turning pro. Previously, the seven-time PGA Tour winner used to sport Nike Air Zoom 20 TW shoes, the Tiger Woods-signature shoe line. He was even spotted with the Woods signature kicks when the 15-time Major winner picked Footjoy at last year’s Masters. After his Augusta triumph, Forbes reported that Scheffler earned $6M in endorsements, including Nike.

The apparel giant has been rocked with rumors of shutting down for the past few months. Notably, Nike shuttered their golf equipment business in 2016. Many predicted that Woods’s departure meant only one thing: that Nike was leaving the golf apparel business as well. However, Scheffler’s signature lines indicate that might not be the case. Interestingly, Nike also signed Rory McIlroy in a multi-year deal a few days back.

Scheffler looked jovial while unveiling the Nike-sent kicks; this was the first time he got hold of them. You too can head over to the Nike website to get the new Nike Air Max Pro 1 delivered to your home. Meanwhile, the shift to a mallet putter worked wonders for Scottie Scheffler at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Whether the new kicks will work as a lucky charm remains to be seen.
