In recent times, golf courses have been experiencing a number of mishaps. Aside from the heightened security at the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool at the behest of a protest, a deck collapsing in Montana caused injuries to several enthusiasts at the club.
While these disasters could possibly be negligence on the part of people, what do we do when a fire hinders gameplay? Let’s dive into this hair-raising occurrence on a golf course.

Fire surrounded by water prevents a valuable shot
An image, from a few years ago, has emerged and it shows a fire breaking out on what appears to be drier grasslands surrounding a body of water on a golf course. A predicament arose at this point, not only something that raises questions about global warming but also the callousness of responsibility. Ziregolf’s post on Instagram inspired several reactions from enthusiasts.

As the image depicts, at an unknown golf course, a player is prepared to take his shot. But the horrifying scene of yellow and orange flames ahead of him draws attention. The fiery outbreak appears to be across a water body, and the flames around the shallow end are hardly burning. However, the raging fire on the right seems quite threatening.

The caption that read, “Just clear the water and keep it left of the fire,” inspired netizens to offer a variety of plausible suggestions to bypass the fire and water to take a good shot. However, very few seem perturbed by the sudden outbreak of flames while a golfer prepares to fly the ball across the treacherous domain.

What people are saying about an absurd fire and water situation on the golf course
The image caused an outpouring of response from golf enthusiasts. Many shared their inspired ideas for the perfect shot in order to clear the water body as well as stay away from the fire. “Draw over the water towards the left edge of the first flame. Easy,” said one admirer of the sport, while another enthusiast commented, “gotta go driver.” Some even called it the “perfect golf weather,” sarcastically, of course.
There were also those admirers of the sport who realized the immediate danger that is posed across many golf courses throughout the country, if not the world. “Hazards have been in need up being upgraded for too long,” said one concerned fan. While another pointed out, “How the hell am I supposed to chip with that going on?”
Several others took a rather sarcastic approach to the whole flame and water situation saying, “Funny, this burning patch isn’t listed on my yardage card. I hate it when the clubhouse doesnt tell me about things like this and sanding the greens.” And, “My weather app says the fire should pass in a few minutes.” Truly the risks associated with golf courses are increasing. Proper maintenance and close heed to the removal of hazardous materials may just be a lifesaver.
