TV and streaming schedule for Puerto Rico Open

Among the stars at the Rio Grande are defending champion Nico Echavarria, Ryder Cupper Robert MacIntyre, PGA Tour winner Daniel Berger, and 3-time DP World Tour winner Rasmus Hojgaard among many others. As an additional event on the PGA Tour, the PR Open has always been played simultaneously with the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

This gives the unrecognized talent on the Tour a chance to showcase what they have and take the world’s attention. Moreover, because much emphasis has been given to the signature event, the usual broadcast schedule for a PGA Tour event cannot be followed for the Puerto Rico Open. As a result, NBC will not be casting the last two rounds as it always does for Tour events.

However, all four rounds will be covered by the Golf Channel. For Thursday and Friday, the broadcast on Golf Channel will start from 10:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m. The Saturday and Sunday rounds will start at 12:30 p.m. on Golf Channel and end at 2:30 p.m. All four rounds will be streamed on Peacock simultaneously (all times ET).

The exclusive coverage of PGA Tour events can also be streamed via ESPN+. The players are set and beaming for the Puerto Rico Open as the event has improved by the Tour and the prize money for it has been increased by $200,000 from the 2023 edition.

What’s at stake at the Puerto Rico Open?

Comparatively, the Puerto Rico Open does not boast the same $20 million prize purse as the Arnold Palmer Invitational, nor does it have 700 FedExCup points for the winner. But the prize money from $3.8 million last year has been changed to $4 million in the 2024 season. Out of this prize pool, the winner will get $720,000, which has increased from last year’s $680,000.

The Official World Golf Rankings will give 21.85217, improving the players’s rank before the Masters in April, which may allow them to qualify for the men’s first major.
