Bryson DeChambeau shocked the world when he displayed his inhuman power and drive to win the US Open in 2021. He left the golf community open-jawed again when he signed with the Saudi-backed league early in June this year. Since then, he has been an outspoken advocate for LIV Golf.

In a recent podcast, he spoke about the best strategy golf could take and how he believed the league would grow over time.

DeChambeau was one of the first golfers to defect to LIV Golf. The one-time major winner signed a four-and-a-half-year contract worth $125 million with the other side. Bryson played in seven of the eight events this season and made a little over $3.5 million.

In a recent podcast with Emma Carpenter, Bryson was asked about the best strategy LIV Golf could follow, and he said, “The most important thing is that they just keep showing their model: the team format, the franchise model.” He believes the fans will come to love the model and the game itself.

Bryson sees the golf that LIV Golf presents as appealing to the fans in the same way as the “NFL, NBA, [and] NHL.” He is certain that the fans will, in time, come to love and grow attached to the teams, and even “fight” for them.

The eight-time PGA Tour winner sees LIV golf as a natural progression of the game. He thinks that given time, the series will grow to be a lot bigger. “I think when you look at the game 10 years from now, this game will be stronger than ever,” he said. Bryson believes that LIV Golf  stands to change the course of how golf is viewed and played.

Bryson DeChambeau understands, though, that this will take time and that the fans are yet to accept LIV properly. “I hope people can see that, see through all this minutia and just minor stuff that is going on right now,” he stated. He is also certain that eventually, they would come to accept this and said, “There’s always a net positive; humans have always progressed, not regressed.”
