Paige Spiranac has received a lot of love from the golf community for the content she creates online. It also helped her amass over 10 million followers across all social media platforms. While the internet made her the most popular female golf entity, she received a tremendous amount of hatred from it as well. From online bullying to death threats, there is nothing that the 29-year-old hasn’t experienced throughout her career as a golf influencer.

Golf is a traditional sport. Although many of its fans have started thinking differently, some still follow these traditions, especially the dress code. If you know Paige Renee Spiranac, it is not a secret that defies traditional norms, which often makes people judge her. “The people who talk about me don’t really know me,” she told localmagazine.com in 2020 while addressing the hate comments she gets online.

Paige Spiranac slammed the online haters with truth bombs
Online bullying is not a new thing. Many have become victims of such hatred, and Spiranac didn’t want to end up like them. Hence, she found her own way of dealing with online bullies. “I really had to find a good support group outside of social media and golf,” the Colorado native revealed. “I relied on them heavily.”

The world has changed for good in many ways. Everyone acknowledges each others’ space and how they want to live their lives. However, according to the former golfer, the internet is a space where people forget this. “I hate comments that question whether I’m a model or golfer. Why can’t I be both?” she questioned the hypocritical mentality of the netizens.
“I am so many things,” she further added. “I try to be myself. Everyone feels empowered in different ways,” the Playing a Round podcast host explained to localmagazine.com.
The golf influencer is an anti-online bullying ambassador
Growing up, Paige Spiranac had been a victim of bullying. According to her, from being different to choosing homeschool as her mode of education, she was bullied for everything. Later, when she started playing golf professionally, and people started noticing her for dressing differently, the netizens again targeted her to show their hatred.

Spiranac had experienced a lot of emotional distress because of online bullying. Hence, once she got the opportunity to work against it and raise awareness, she took it. Now, the 1-time Cactus Tour champion has been a long-time ambassador of the CyberSmile Foundation, an NGO that works for the victims of online bullying.
