Paige Spiranac got emotional talking about an unforgettable incident

It was from the time when the ex-golfer was in the news after some of her private pictures got leaked on the internet. It was an extremely hard time for Spiranac. She mentioned sharing a few pictures of herself with her then-boyfriend, who decided to forward them to his friends.

And soon he circulated her images, strangers started to text Spiranac out of nowhere. “It was horrible,” she said. “Just getting these random messages from people you don’t know and they’ve seen you in such a vulnerable way. It was disgusting.” Moreover, when the internet sensation decided to confront the man who caused the fiasco, he blamed her instead.

“When I finally confronted the guy and said, ‘I can’t believe you did this to me’, he said — and I’ll never forget this — ‘You are the sl*t who sent it to me’…He said, ‘You deserve this,” Spiranac recalled. Tensed about the whole situation, Spiranac would wake up every morning worried about what would happen. It can be mentally torturous for a person to go through so much at the cost of trusting someone. “I can never escape this picture,” she said.

Has Spiranac moved on from the trauma?

The worst part was that there was no escaping the situation. As much as Spiranac tried to feel okay about things, someone new would text reminding her about her viral pictures. Spiranac’s mental and emotional growth has been massive over the years. The golf beauty constantly deals with trolls and critics on the internet on an everyday basis. However, it is not easy to go through what she faced during that time. Simply calling it ‘stressful’ might not be justice to her condition.
