One of the most anticipated golf matches of the year took place yesterday. The seventh edition of the exhibition series, ‘The Match,’ saw Tiger Woods return to the golf course and was much awaited by the fans. The golf legend was on the course with three other PGA Tour stars, teaming up with World No. 1, Rory McIlroy. The game was played under the lights, i.e., during the night, on a lit-up course. But that’s where the trouble began.

Many were not impressed with the way the game was played at night. They preferred to play golf the regular way, where one could see the ball. “I don’t like night golf,” wrote a fan.

But some fans didn’t agree with them. They lashed out at the PGA, one even threatening to boycott the Tour, while another fan tweeted, “I don’t like it.”

Closing in on 50 … back is shot, knee is shot, ankle is shot, and he still hits it 177 mph. Truly a once in a lifetime talent.

Regardless of the split of fans, the players enjoyed a thrilling game.
Did Tiger Woods win on his return to the sport?
Rory McIlroy was paired up with Tiger Woods to face off against the golf pals, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. The fans had anticipated an easy win for the golf legend and the world No. 1, but that wasn’t the case. Thomas and Spieth started their game with a bang and kept their lead to see their win through at the 10th hole.

Both teams started with a birdie on the first hole of the 12-hole event. Woods went on to hole a birdie in his first three strokes back in the game. But that was the only highlight for the team that night. Thomas and Spieth went on to win the second, third, and fourth holes to take a quick lead. The pair lost only one hole the entire night to the business partners, the seventh hole.
But they won the eighth hole, restoring their three-hole lead. Spieth went on to tie the 10th hole for a birdie, thus sealing the friends’ victory. Although Woods didn’t win his first game back, he played a great game.
