From winning an LPGA Tour event to creating records, there is nothing that scares the American professional golfer, Nelly Korda. Or at least she is not afraid of anything that comes in her professional career. Nonetheless, she can’t stand even the thought of a spider. Then, think of how she would act when she sees one during a press conference!

The 24-year-old was answering the questions and cracking jokes during the AIG Women’s Open press meet when the villain of the day appeared. “Oh my god, that is a huge spider,” Korda pointed out to everybody.

She faced her senior players on the courses that would understand more golf than Korda herself and won against them. Yet, she wasn’t as afraid as she was when a spider appeared.

“I do not like spiders,” Korda admitted after she went through a brief panic mode. “It’s worrying when it disappears.” Although she was trying to answer the media, one could see her eyes stuck on the place from where the spider vanished.

The 2022 AIG Women’s Open had a dramatic finish as the top two players on the field had to face one another in a sudden playoff to determine the winner. However, none of them was the youngest of the Korda sisters.

The South African golfer, Ashleigh Buhai, and South Korea’s In Gee Chun battled each other in a 4-hole playoff, with the former winning the major title and the latter no. 2 place. On the other hand, Korda could only secure a T41 place on the leaderboard with an overall score of 4-over par.

Korda couldn’t secure a decent rank on the leaderboard. Thus, it is okay to say that she went through a lot, including meeting mammoth-like spiders, and all went in vain.
