Amy Mickelson, the golfer’s wife, was 37 years old when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Mickelson was shattered to hear the news and even took a short break from the sport.

But when he came back to the field, he made sure that his wife felt proud of him. The golf legend was completely dressed in black, except for the pink ribbon on his golf cap. It was a way to honor his wife, who was struggling to fight her cancer. A pink ribbon often symbolizes breast cancer awareness, and Mickelson was not left behind in terms of spreading awareness.

After his surprising round, he said“I don’t normally shed tears over wins, and when Amy and I hugged, that was a very emotional moment for us and something that I’ll look back on and just cherish,”
