Winfrey and Woods also discussed his 2001 win at the Master’s Tournament in Augusta National Golf Club. The 46-year-old spoke about how he was emotional after winning the major championship event.

Not to forget, the former World Number One has won the Masters five times in his long and illustrious career. And, he is just one win away from equaling Jack Nicklaus’ record of winning the most Masters’ titles. The Golden Bear has won the major championship event six times.

Tiger Woods opens up about his overwhelming fans

Woods talked about his non-liking for overwhelming fans when Oprah Winfrey asked him about how he handles all the adulations by his fans. He said, “I haven’t gotten used to it. I honestly don’t feel comfortable with it. I just feel comfortable hitting soft draws and fades and stuff like that.”

Later in their conversation, Tiger talked about winning the 2001 Masters and his emotions. Woods added, “When I had made the putt, and I just had a moment there and all of a sudden I realized I had no more shots to play. I was done. And I had somehow come out on top and it just hit me and I started losing it.”

Moreover, Woods’ words prove how much the win at Augusta meant to him. At the same time, it also shows how even the famous names in the sport find it hard to soak in the overwhelming love of the fans.
