Over the years, many beautiful couples have embarked on the world of sports. But the loving couple of Gary Player and his late wife, Vivienne Player stood out from the rest. The couple’s marriage lasted for more than six decades until Vivienne passed away in 2021. However, a year later, the Hall of Famer announced the first charity ambassador event on American soil with a touching message for the love of his life.
Player married Vivienne four years after turning professional. Though she married one of the best athletes in South Africa, she was quite an athlete herself. Vivienne specialized in the backstroke at swimming competitions during her youth. Moreover, she once reportedly made two hole-in-one in a single round.
Since the passing of his wife, Player has taken plenty of charitable initiations as a tribute to Vivienne, who passed away last year after losing a battle with cancer. In the most recent, the 9-time Major winner shared his humble experience through several pictures of the latest charity event on Instagram with a touching caption.
