World number two female golfer, Nelly Korda, is shining with a brand-new armor. She competed in the first event of the season 2023 on the LPGA tour with new clothes, new clubs, and a renewed sense of motivation. But is the latest equipment any good for her? She cleared the doubt in a recent interview.

The eight-time LPGA Tour champion had to take a long break of four months after she was diagnosed with a blood clot in her right arm last year. However, she returned at the U.S. Women’s Open and tied for eighth place before finishing the year with six more top-10 results, including a victory at the penultimate competition.

At the beginning of the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, they introduced Korda as the newest signee of Nike Golf for their apparel (“That’s something I’ve always dreamed about,” she said). She has also switched to TaylorMade for clubs and golf balls. It’s a significant shift for Korda, who claimed to have played TaylorMade throughout her junior career and formative years.

Does Nelly Korda favor any club from her bag?

Korda started the conversation by explaining her first round at the tournament. The LPGA stalwart started solid and birdied 2 and 3. However, she tugged a couple of her irons on par-3s in the first round. She was overall happy with the start and is looking forward to more. Further, she talked about her clubs and new equipment in her bag. Korda is pleased and impressed with the change. She said, “New clubs, new season, kind of haven’t been playing, obviously, as much as I would in a season, but I’m happy with today’s round.”

One might wonder if the pro golfer has any favorite club in her new equipment bag. Korda clarified once and for all that she loves all her clubs equally. She said, “I never have favorite clubs. They’re all my favorite, all 14 of them, so they don’t misbehave, plus my ball.”According to her, the new TaylorMade clubs were solid, and she could hit her ball well. However, it was a coincidence to see Brooke Henderson also playing with TM equipment and doing well. According to Korda, it was because TM has a fantastic team and they are thriving with their product range.

She stated that she was very comfortable playing with new clubs. Korda liked the irons; however, she pointed out that it’s very different from practicing with new clubs to play with them. Therefore, she has decided to use this week as a gap to determine where she needs to focus on it more and make some adjustments. However, she was generally very pleased with how her clubs were flying.
