‘I Run Out Of Golf Balls’: Despite Winning 18 Major Events, Jack Nicklaus Makes a Humbling Confession About His Last Round of Golf

Jack Nicklaus might very well top the list of names that will remembered in golf for generations to come. Nicklaus is 83 years of age. The golden bear, as he is called, has won 73 PGA Tour events.

He won the Masters in 1963, 1965, 1966, 1972, 1975, and 1986. He also won the PGA Championship in 1963, 1971, 1973, 1975, and 1980. Additionally, he also won the US Open four times. The golfing sensation, however, has not played golf in a while now and he pointed out the same at his recent public appearance while recalling the last time he swung a club.

Jack Nicklaus, the golfing icon, hasn’t swung a golf club since the Masters in April when he served as an honorary starter. At 83 years old, Nicklaus is uncertain about whether he’ll play again.

He expressed a desire to return but admitted that his recent performance on the course has made the game less enjoyable. As he humorously noted, “I run out of golf balls.”

Reflecting on his illustrious career, which includes 18 major championships, Nicklaus mentioned that he hasn’t played an 18-hole round where he holed out every putt since his farewell appearance at St. Andrews in 2005 where he missed the cut.
