Sometimes the level of competition heats up so much on a golf course that one needs a friend to lean on. That is a caddie for a professional golfer. A few days ago, the Zozo Championship, which was taking place at the Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, concluded on Sunday by declaring its winner.

Other than having the spotlight on the victor, another instance that won the hearts of many was a PGA Tour pro’s honest confession about his caddie. Days after that, his caddie reflects on his thoughts on the same.

PGA Tour Pro’s caddie makes a candid admission

As we know, Collin Morikawa has had a no-win streak for the last two years. But to quench the drought, he finally came out victorious in the PGA Tour event, the Zozo Championship, which was taking place in Asia. After his win, as he joined a presser, the golfer shared his success with his caddie. And a full mouth of appreciation came out for J.J. Jakovac.

Collin said, “He’s a friend. He’s a mentor. He’s someone I respect. He’s everything. I wouldn’t be here without him”. He further went on to add how his bagman was not just a bagman but even guided him with game strategies.

Now, days after that, Jakovac finally broke the silence on this. He thanked the golfer, saying, “it’s the highest praise. I think a caddy could ever get right from a from a guy who’s as good as he is and feeling’s mutual. I mean, he, I respect him, he works really hard. We have a good relationship off the golf course”.

He continued saying But, you know, I teared up when I heard what he said about me because it kind of validates you even though I know we’re a good team, and we do we do good things to get together out there.” Added to that, he also continued, “It’s like, all the all the validation. I mean, if there’s one person I want to tell me, I’m doing a good job and to respect what I’m doing. It’s him right. So him saying that publicly just makes it even more, you know, I’ll cherish it for sure because it makes me feel like part of the team even more than I already do, and you know, I’m just glad I can be out there and help him like that, you know.” The duo definitely share a good relationship.
