Tiger Woods is one of the richest and most successful golfers of all time. The 15-time major winner is just a few more major victories behind golf legend Jack Nicklaus. Looking at Woods’ physical state today, it’s tough to say if he could win another major anytime soon. But there was a time when Woods was on a winning streak when it came to major championships. In fact, the legend himself, Jack Nicklaus, gave his opinion about the chances of Woods breaking his record of 18 major titles.

Jack Nicklaus speaks about Tiger Woods’ chances of breaking his record

Nicklaus, in an interview with Golf Channel after Tiger Woods won the tour Championship on Sunday, was asked if Woods had a chance to catch his 18 major victories record. To everyone’s surprise, Nicklaus’ response to the question was positive and diplomatic at the same time.

He said“Oh, I think it’s realistic. With today’s equipment and physically the way the guys take care of themselves, I think they can play well into their 50s. So maybe Tiger has another 40 majors to play…He played like the Tiger of old, and I’m really happy for him,” he added.

Jack Nicklaus set a record for winning the most major championships with 18 major victories in his career. However, Nicklaus and all of Woods’ fans believe that Tiger Woods can break that record. Tiger Woods has already won 15 major championships and has 3 more to go to catch Nicklaus.

Woods has put an end to retirement rumors

After looking at his struggle with walking and playing between the holes due to his leg injury, there were numerous rumors about Woods’ retirement from golf. However, when Woods was asked about the same, his response made all of those rumors disappear. In an interview with Sky Sports, he said“Who, me? Retire?! No…No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I’m not retiring.”

He also admitted that things are not as easy as they used to be and that his new “reality” is different from what people expect out of him. Woods has given his best in every event he has played. While the outcome of his efforts has not been close to great, the work he is putting in is as strong as the most successful players today.
