LIV Golf has been a great attraction for several players from tours around the world. But the league has mainly focused on bringing in the best of all. And Ian Poulter is certainly one of the most famous golfers to be in the new league. However, playing in the Saudi league is not as easy as it sounds for the golf star. And he recently opened up about his eating disorders ever since he became part of the circuit.

Ian Poulter talks about his unhealthy eating habits
Poulter, 47, has done a marvelous job earning his name in the world of golf. With millions of admirers worldwide due to his appearances in the Ryder Cup for several years, the golfer is definitely a fan favorite. Poulter has been playing professional golf for a long time now. But his decision to join LIV Golf was one of his biggest moves to bring about a huge turn in his career.

Fans prefer to assume that the golfers in the new Saudi league are living their best lives. Shorter schedules and more money are definitely what feels like a better combination compared to the PGA Tour’s old-school tournaments. But not everything is how it seems!
Players who joined the LIV Golf tour received tons of hate comments regularly from golf fans and critics. Some simply ignored them, while others couldn’t. And as far as Poulter’s case was concerned, he apparently found a way that helped him deal with all the hate comments. But it came at the cost of him being physically and mentally unwell.

“Those sarnies, covered in HP sauce, on a daily basis, were great, delicious, as was all the chocolate and everything, but I was feeling awful, slovenly, and it was plainly not a pleasant situation,” he said. “I would never admit that I was stress-eating, but who knows the way the mind works? I was getting ridiculous abuse and, in that sense, they were tough times.”

Poulter also talked about how people questioned his alleged greed for money when he already had so much. But in his opinion, he liked to treat golf as a job. Moreover, he wanted to maximize every bit of himself and his potential on the field. But his confessions about his disturbed eating habits have made it clear that consistent hate can definitely lead someone to do things they would never have otherwise!
