Paige Spiranac disclosed receiving death threats

Spiranac is one of the most successful social media influencers in today’s day and age. The ex-professional golfer earns more than golf legends including Tiger Woods when it comes to posting sponsored content on Instagram. However, being famous is not as comforting and easy as it looks.

There was a time when Spiranac talked about how she started receiving death threats from people. And the reason behind those threats were the clothes that she chose to wear, and the way she looked. Unfortunately, almost every woman has faced some kind of questioning about what she wears from people around her. But the way Spiranac had to deal with it is pretty uncommon.

“I was harassed, my family was harassed,” she said. “I was receiving death threats, people were invading my privacy, I was being blackmailed. This was going on whilst I was trying to play.” People even claimed that the golfer was being invited to events due to the way she dressed. One troll said, “You only show some cleavage, that’s why you have what you have,”.

Spiranac explained how the golf world was being unfair to her

During the conversation, Spiranac explained how people judged her based on her clothes, her looks, and especially her body. And that was one of the reasons why she found it really hard to continue playing professional golf. “That’s the injustice that we face every day as women and I see it a lot in golf,” she said. “People seem to think I got where I am because of the clothes that I wear. That’s unfair to me and unfair to all of my accomplishments.”

The social media star mentioned how much she was into community service in comparison to other golfers. But the response she received from the fans was something she couldn’t take. However, things worked out in her favor since she is currently one of the biggest names in sports personalities on social media.
