Tiger Woods faced severe backlash from his own kin

Woods’s half-brother, Kevin Woods, was once dealing with a serious physical ailment. He was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was confined to a wheelchair. However, as per his half-family, Tiger was not there through it all.

They also claimed that calls to the pro golfer had remained unanswered.  His father’s first wife, Barbara Gary Woods had said, “I’m very disappointed in Tiger. Before he got all famous, they were in touch a lot.”

This had sparked controversy considering this involved some of the biggest names in the game of golf. Tiger Woods’ personal life has forever been a matter of controversy.

Earl Woods Jr, one of Tiger’s half-siblings has been the most vocal in this situation. He said, “I’d like to [slap] Tiger, wake him up. I’d like to say, ‘Don’t come knocking on the door when you need a bone-marrow transplant.’ To see if this is the response we get? Maybe when you see the world as he does, you don’t see what other people are going through. But, seriously? You’ve got problems with your knee? That’s nothing compared to what Kevin is going through. Nothing.”

This wasn’t the first time Tiger was involved in such a situation. However, this one incident remained to be a major one.

Tiger once gave a humbling response

Woods is regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time. With all of his success, Woods has never lost sight of who he is as a person.

He believes that what you make of fame is more important than the number of wins. He established the TGR Foundation to ensure that his legacy actually helps people.

His foundation equips young people with the tools and support they need to discover their interests, enhance their knowledge and build their own path to personal and professional success.

Talking about how fame is temporary, sometimes. Woods said, “The greatest thing that could happen is to not be remembered. What I mean by that is, the kids right now, don’t know that Michael Jordan played. They see a Jumpman [logo] and they think, that’s so cool … Young kids, really young kids, single digits in age, they have no idea who Michael Jordan was, but the Jumpman logo is cool.

Woods continued, “Now, for me, they don’t understand who that is. In my learning center, kids go through it and they don’t know who I am. They don’t know what I’ve done. But it’s a safe haven for them to learn and grow.”
