With the PNC Championship, all the golf events of 2022 will be over. The professional players, both male and female players, would get enough rest for the next two weeks or so before they will need to compete in the next championship in 2023. However, John Daly, who has been different from other golfers throughout his career, has different plans for his off-season. And it can severely affect his career!

“We get holidays and stuff. But the summertime will be better,” the 2-time major champion said after the PNC Championship pro-am on Friday before explaining how he will spend his break after the event.

John Daly looks forward to spending time with his son

Since the 1991 PGA Championship winner and his son John Daly II started playing the Champions Tour father-son event, the viewers got to witness the chemistry between them several times. Their interest in hitting long drives, the young Daly making fun of his old man during interviews, etc., showed how close they are.

Even though he will have surgery for his knee replacement, Daly only sees the bright side of it. And as a loving father, the Arkansas native wants to spend time with his son and intends to do it during Christmas break.

“We’ve got Christmas coming up,” he told the media ahead of the PNC Championship event. “So we’ll get to spend some time together,” he added.

Although the 56-year-old rarely plays on the PGA Tour events, he still plays on the Champions Tour. On the other hand, Daly Jr. is a collegiate-level player. Hence, the father-son doesn’t get to enjoy a lot of their time together, and the American professional golfer plans to spend some quality time with his son this Christmas.

Has Daly Jr. ever won a championship?

Other than helping his father win the 2021 PNC Championship with a tournament record score of 27-under, John Daly II has won many times as an amateur. The 19-year-old currently plays on the Arkansan Razorbacks. And his collegiate-level profile shows that he has won the 2020 IJGT Fall Kickoff event, among all other International Junior Golf Tour wins.
