As a professional golfer, Nelly Korda has achieved a lot. She has won several championship titles on the Tour, including a major at such a young age. She has created a record and won the 2020 Tokyo Olympics gold medal for America. Her golfing ability and her cheerful personality have made some of the Tour pros become fans of her. However, has the 24-year-old ever seen fangirling over any other players?

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen Jordan play in person,” Nelly Korda said ahead of the PNC Championship. Notably, the tournament officials released the tee timings of each team recently, and according to it, she and her father will play tee off with the PGA Tour pro-Jordan Spieth and his father.

Nelly Korda is excited to watch her favorite take over the greens

It is the first time Jordan Spieth will play in the Tour Champions’ PNC Championship. On the contrary, Korda had teed off at The Ritz-Carlton GC in Orlando with her father once before. Although both of them play the same sport professionally, the LPGA Tour pro has never seen the three-time major champion play live. And according to the Twitter post made by the PGA Tour, she is excited to watch him play on the greens.

“I’m going to geek out a little watching him,” the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner said after knowing she will tee off with Team Spieth on Saturday. “Especially on the greens,” she added.

Is Jordan Spieth good at putting?

For the first few years of his career, the 13-time PGA Tour champion has always been praised for his putting skills. He has won numerous events worldwide, including major championships, with accurate putting skills.

Nevertheless, he has failed to showcase this talent throughout the last season. In fact, when he missed a three-foot putt at an event a week before the Masters, the Golf Digest even mentioned him as the ‘player once regarded as the best putter on earth’ in their article.

Notably, he mostly struggled when he had to short-putting. The report from a statical study conducted by the PGA Tour revealed that he won the 2022 RBC Heritage despite losing more than 2.5 strokes on the greens. His 18-inch miss in round 3 of the event marked the fourth-shortest putt missed by a TOUR winner since 2004.

Spieth may have faced troubles in living up to his past putting skills lately. However, Korda has faith in him and his putting skills and believes she will see him at his best when they tee off together this weekend.
