John Daly is one of the most renowned golfers of all time. Unlike other players, the golfer is better known for his non-country club appearance and colorful pants on the field. Daly has set numerous records in professional golf. However, his personal life has been bumpy throughout his career. And there was a time when Daly hoped for a miracle to get him out of a health disaster.

John Daly opened up about his critical health condition
John Daly has had multiple surgeries in his career due to numerous injuries on the field. The golfer has changed the course of the game several times. And he once wanted to do the same with himself when he found out about a critical health issue he was going through. Back in 2020, Daly revealed going through a successful surgery for bladder cancer. However, that was not the end of it.

Daly was in an interview with Golf Channel when he opened up about his cancer. Adding more details, Daly said, “there’s an 85 percent chance it comes back.” Daly was 54 at the time and said, “It’s probably going to come back and then another three months that you don’t know,”. The golf legend didn’t have many details about his cancer. But he felt lucky since the doctors had diagnosed the condition before it was too late. Ending his remarks about the same, Daly said, “We will just see what happens. Maybe there’s a miracle.”
Daly shared his plans for an improved lifestyle
After being diagnosed with such a scary disease, Daly opened up about everything he was going to change in his lifestyle. The golfer found out about his cancer when he visited the doctor for kidney stones and back pain. However, his improved habits involved a reduction in the consumption of diet cokes and cigarettes. He said he was going to quit smoking.

Though Daly also had a backup plan if things went sideways with his cancer. The golfer said he was going to follow the doctors’ advice. But in case things didn’t work out and his cancer didn’t go away, he would “have some fun” and live his life. Only Daly knows what that meant, but he sure made it clear that he wasn’t “scared to die or anything”.

Thankfully, Daly is doing much better now and is all set to play professional golf again. He recently underwent another surgery for his left knee. But he is back on the field and will also be playing in the upcoming PNC Championship in December.
