Phil Mickelson, one of the more popular faces on the LIV Tour, continues to jibe at Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee. The war of words between the two started after Brooks Koepka won the Wanamaker Trophy last month, giving LIV Golf a much-needed boost.

Their Twitter spat ultimately resulted in the Golf Channel analyst blocking Mickelson on Twitter. However, that hasn’t stopped the LIV pro, who continues to take swipes at Chamblee. On Saturday, the 6-time major winner took to Twitter once again to call out his nemesis, with LPGA star Nelly Korda inadvertently becoming a part of it as well!

Phil Mickelson blasts Brandel Chamblee’s alleged hypocrisy in a new tweet

Greg Norman’s LIV league is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which has been a point of contention for many, including Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee. Time and again, the 60-year-old has spoken out against players who defected to LIV. Most recently, after Brooks Koepka lifted his fifth major trophy, Chamblee made it clear that LIV pro doesn’t deserve a place in USA’s Ryder Cup team despite his smashing form.

Since then, Chamblee has been attacked by many associated with the Saudi-backed league, with Phil Mickelson being the most vocal critic of all. On Saturday, Lefty called Chamblee out for his alleged “selective moral outrage” by posting pictures from the Aramco Team Series. One of those photos even featured former World No. 1 LPGA sensation Nelly Korda. Mickelson had also named Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch, another columnist with whom he has bad blood, in his tweet. But what relation did the former world no. 1 have with this boiling feud?

The Aramco Team Series is a professional women’s golf event on the Ladies European Tour (LET). Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund also funds the highly popular event. While the Aramco tournament is not an official LPGA event, the LPGA Tour did become part of a joint venture with the LET in 2019. Many of the biggest names on the Tour, including Nelly Korda, Danielle Kang, Brooke Henderson, and more, have also participated in the event.

Mickelson’s latest jab at Chamblee comes just days after he referred to the analyst’s obsession with LIV as “psychotic. The golfer has even extended his support to ex-Golf Channel anchor Lisa Cornwell. This comes after Cornwell, in her new tell-all book, detailed the challenges she faced at her former workplace. The author has even held Chamblee responsible for fostering the toxic working environment!

Mickelson extends support to Brandel Chamblee’s detractors

Amidst his feud with Phil Mickelson, Brandel Chamblee has come under scrutiny once again for a different set of accusations. In her recently released memoir titled “Troublemaker,” former Golf Channel employee Lisa Cornwell brutally slammed the famous analyst. To add to Chamblee’s woes, Tucker Booth, who co-wrote the memoir, referred to him as a nasty bully in a recent podcast.

Later, Mickelson tweeted in support of the authors, saying, “His obsession with LIV (and me) borders on the psychotic; at least I never had to work with him”. The golfer also came to Cornwell’s defense in another instance after Eamon Lynch rebuked her. He even empathized with the author for having to deal with the likes of Chamblee and Lynch.
