The conversation about the greatest golfer of all time has always revolved around Tiger Woods. Many legends and current golfers have been compared to the 15-time Major winner, but most have failed to achieve a high number of accolades as him. In a recent Twitter exchange, European Tour star, Eddie Pepperell, trolled a fan who claimed that LIV Golf CEO, Greg Norman, was a better golfer in his time than Woods.

Being considered the voluntary heads of their Tours has led to comparisons between the Hall of Famers. With the ongoing Tiger’s Hero World Challenge, a new conversation on Twitter stirred, asking the fans who’s the better golfer; Woods or Norman?

Tiger Woods or Greg Norman? Eddie Pepperell has his say

The Caddie Network, a popular golf Twitter handle, posted a photo of both golfers next to each other and asked a very serious question. “Prime Tiger vs. Prime Norman. Who wins and by how many shots?” Though most fans sided with Woods, one Greg Norman fan elaborated on why ‘the Shark’ is a much better golfer.

Greg does…best driver of the golf ball modern era”, wrote the fan. He further claimed that Norman’s short game was much similar to the 18-time Major winner, Jack Nicklaus. Moreover, he ended by stating, “Tiger didn’t invent golf”.

The tweet was intriguing enough for the Caddie Network to screenshot it and tweet it again asking the fans whether they agree with the fan or not. Out of all the fans came a response from the European Tour star, Eddie Pepperell, indirectly indicating the reaction from the fan was absurd.

Being a golfer on the DP World Tour, he compared himself to fellow Tour great, Jon Rahm. In the tweet, he asked the fans “Prime Pepperell vs Prime Rahm. Who wins and by what in the f***ing world is this?”, tweeted Peperell. Most fans were well aware that the English golfer was only engaged in a banter.

As far as the comparison between Woods and Norman is concerned, undoubtedly, both men are considered the sport’s greats. Moreover, apart from their on-course success, both legends also happen to be one of the most successful businessmen in the sport of golf. Perhaps, the Hall of Famers may have more similarities rather than differences.
