Paige Spiranac is one of the most well-known entities in the golfing world. She is a former pro golfer who is now a full-time social media influencer. Notably, she even hosts a podcast called ‘Playing a round with Paige’, where she talks about all things golf and more. In a recent episode of the same, she revealed an incident in the Bahamas that she experienced, which left her in tears. 

Paige has a history of acting upon her emotions, and breaking or throwing clubs while on the course. Even though it doesn’t happen often, it happens enough, especially when Paige has to keep score. Talking about her mindset, she said, “I reverted back to how I was when I was playing competitive golf. I honestly think I had like severe PTSD from playing competitive golf, ” said Spiranac.

“I had a full-blown mental breakdown. And I just finally called my dad. I was like on the balcony in the Bahamas, in the fetal position crying. And he’s like, ‘yeah, if there’s any event coming up where you need to keep score, you are not playing,’ and he was like ‘you are not doing this for your sake but for everyone around you,'” added Paige

Why did Paige Spiranac quit professional golf?

The social media sensation, Paige Spiranac, is a former professional golfer. She has even competed in a couple of events on the Ladies’ European Tour. However, sadly, she could never make it to the top LPGA Tour. Spiranac turned pro in December 2015 and, in August 2016, competed in the LPGA Qualifying Tournament.

But failing to get a card for the LPGA Tour, she eventually retired from professional golf in December 2016. During her time active, Paige had to face a lot of challenges, not physically, but mentally. The same started to affect her performance, as Paige never made it to the top.

Nevertheless, the queen golfer is a fan favorite today and is extremely successful in her other ventures. Spiranac is the most followed golfing entity on Instagram, with around 3.3 Million followers. She also has a decent following on Twitter and is leading a great life, attached to the sport one way or another.
