The 2020 U.S. Open winner has not played golf after suffering from various injuries during the 2022 PGA Tour season. But he made his comeback at WGC Dell Match Play and even played at the 2022 Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.
However, in April, the 28-year-old professional had to undergo surgery on his left wrist just after the major championship ended. He went through the procedure on April 14. Furthermore, with the PGA Championship just around the corner, will he be able to compete at the event?

Moreover, after his surgery, DeChambeau spoke about his recovery and when he will play again. He said, “For now, I will be taking the appropriate time needed to rest and recover from this procedure and look forward to competing at the highest level within the next two months.”
Furthermore, the 28-year-old professional’s words prove that he will miss the 2022 PGA Championship and a big question mark remains on him even playing at the US Open in June. However, his name is on the playing field as of Friday, May 13th at 5 PM, ET, and until now he has not publically announced his withdrawal from the major championship event this week. Given, that he is still recovering from the surgery, it may be tough for DeChambeau to tee up on Thursday. But only time will tell if he plays at Southern Hills.

Not to forget, the field includes the likes of Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and other big names in golf. Among the big-names missing in the field is Phil Mickelson, who was earlier part of the field and is even the defending champion, but recently withdrew from the event. However, only time will tell when DeChambeau will make his comeback. Will he play at the US Open?
