But I felt that after the PGA would be a good time, because our baby is born and I thought that would be a good time to let everyone know.” He admitted he had married in January 2017, and shortly after, their baby was born in July. On multiple occasions, thereafter, he has mentioned his family.

While not much is known about his wife, his PGA tour profile states that his wife’s name is Mei, and their daughter is called Kanna. Adding to the secrecy, Matsuyama’s caddie for the 2016 Hero World Challenge was a woman named Mei Unui.
