When 37-year-old Jason Kokrak defected from PGA Tour last year, his controversial move ruffled many feathers in the world of golf. Questions about whether players from Greg Norman’s Saudi-backed league will be allowed to participate in the Majors soon followed suit.

Owing to Masters’ qualifying criteria, Kokrak was one of the 18 LIV players who competed at the Augusta National last month. However, the golfer had a forgettable outing, failing to make the cut. Now, it seems like Kokrak’s dreams of winning a Major will have to wait, as he is unlikely to appear at the 2023 PGA Championship.

The golfer doesn’t meet any qualifying criteria for the Major, rendering him unable to compete. The top 15 finishers and ties from the 2022 PGA Championship can play per the PGA of America, but Kokrak had tied for the 60th position in last year’s edition. Additionally, the golfer has also fallen to 110th place on the OWGR, as LIV Golf events do not receive any OWGR points.

Past PGA Championship winners among LIV’s roster of golfers can compete at the Major this year. Recently, two LIV pros also received invites from the PGA of America to play at the 2023 event.
