The World’s No. 1 player, Scottie Scheffler, is having a great year on the greens. In the 2024 season of the PGA Tour, he participated in a total of 8 tournaments, among which he pulled himself into the Top-10 in 7 of them. These include his wins at THE PLAYERS and The Arnold Palmer Invitational. Well, it looks like this year awaits another great journey for him off the course as well, which might end up being the reason for him not getting the green jacket this year at the Masters.

To embrace the riches of life’s treasures, one must be willing to part with a piece of oneself along the journey. Scottie Scheffler is soon to be a father, and well, that will make him pull up his socks and get into the deep waters of his duties as a dotting husband and a loving father. Even if that collides with the Masters, he knows his priority!

During the Par-3 contest, it was the 27-year-old’s sister who took the caddie duties this year, as Mrs. Scheffler was not present on the Augusta greens. In the middle of one of the most-awaited Master traditions that took place a few hours ago, Scottie Scheffler was asked what he would do if his wife went into labor earlier and during the Masters week. It’s clear that for the 2022 Masters Champion, his first child comes on top of everything in his life. The 8X PGA Tour winner, who was caddied by his sister Sara Scheffler on the greens, in a heartbeat said, “I’ll be out of here.” Well, for him, his first child comes on top of everything in his life.

The couple is expecting to have their baby in the week of April, and this is even why Mrs. Scheffler could not come to accompany him at the Augusta National. The two-time PLAYERS Champion added, “Meredith is resting up, we’re a few weeks away. We could not get the OK from the doctor.”

Even Claire Rogers, who works at Golf.com, spoke about Scheffler’s chances of withdrawal if he welcomed his first child earlier than expected and took to her official X (formerly Twitter) account, where she shared a picture of Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler in the golf cart after the final round of the practice session at the Augusta National before the Masters. It looks like Scottie Scheffler was on the lead by 6 strokes after 54 holes. Rogers wrote, “Scheffler on Saturday if his wife goes into labor (leading by 6 after 54 holes, has to WD)”.

The Schefflers surely are over the moon with the very soon arrival of their firstborn. The World No. 1 spoke about the same on various platforms. During his interview at SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio, Scheffler stated, “It’s been a pretty exciting last seven months or so and we’re looking forward to hopefully getting the baby out of there nice and healthy and with a healthy momma and then we’ll go from there.”

Even before getting into the PLAYERS Championship, he addressed that he will be taking a week off before the Masters, and will not play as proactively on this PGA Tour because he has to attend to his wife, and well, that is what only makes sense. Well, fans are only hoping that the baby does not decide to pop out before Sunday!

It looks like the eight-time PGA Tour winner is not the only father-to-be on the Georgian greens. Another PGA Tour pro has their baby on board, who also happens to be one of the closest friends of Scottie Scheffler, the 5-time PGA Tour winner, Sam Burns.

Sam Burns and Scottie Scheffler have known each other since their teenage days and are also the best of friends. On top of that the two soon-to-be dads are roommates this week at the Masters. It looks like both of them are going to share the dates of their good news – getting their first babies. Surprisingly, his wife Caroline Burns’s due date is ahead of that of Meredith which may collide with the Masters week as well. And if it were to be true, Burns has stated that he might have to take a leave this year from the first major of this season.

He added that it is extremely difficult for his wife to manage when he is out there on the golf course because once a golfer gets into the greens, he gets so focused that his entire concentration falls only on winning. He concluded, “Off the golf course, it’s definitely been difficult. I miss Caroline; I wish she was here, but it’s been fun, too. I know she wants me to be here, so hopefully no baby this week. Hopefully stays in there until after Sunday.”
