The 150th Open Championship is all set to begin on Thursday, July 14th, at St. Andrews, the home of golf. Meanwhile, this major championship will begin amidst the PGA Tour vs. LIV Golf war. The R&A has permitted all the LIV golfers to compete. Hence, we will see Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and other LIV golfers this week at St. Andrews. 

However, some believe LIV golfers, particularly Phil Mickelson, are getting ostracized at this event. They say the governing body of golf is trying its best to negate the LIV Golf Series, especially for this week. But is R&A really trying to ostracize the LIV Golf players?  

Is the R&A ostracizing Phil Mickelson and other LIV golfers? 

The R&A recently published the tee times for the first two rounds of the 150th Open Championship. Most LIV Golf players will tee off at odd hours in the United States. Prominent golfer Phil Mickelson will tee off at 2:30 a.m. ET on Thursday. He will play his first round when half of the Americans are asleep.

The R&A has stopped the LIV golfers from giving interviews this week. Hence, we will not hear any press conferences from golfers like Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, and others. Furthermore, the organizers have not invited the LIV golf leader, Greg Norman. 

Meanwhile, Mickelson himself withdrew from the Champions Dinner. Hence, all these things strongly suggest that the R&A is trying to throw shade on this whole saga. They do not want the focus to be diverted from this historic event. 

Therefore, the R&A is trying to cover all the LIV golfers and not allow unnecessary things to take the limelight away from this 150th Open Championship. But few golf fans believe these are all sheer coincidences, and the R&A is not trying to ostracize any golfer.
