In simple words, no, the DP World Tour Championship does not have a cut. While it will be contested over 72 holes, the prize purse will feature a whopping $10 million. Incidentally, this will be one of the highest purses of the Tour outside of the Four Majors. Coming to the scoring system, a total of 12000 Race To Dubai points will be up for grabs. The winner will get 2000 points, while a solo second-place winner will have the opportunity to get a full 1335 points.

Interestingly, there will be added perks too. After the end of the DP World Tour Play-Offs, the golfers earning a top 10 Race to Dubai ranking will get to share a cumulative bonus prize pool of $6 million, with the winner getting $2 million.

Before turning up for the play-off in the Amgen Irish Open, McIlroy completed the career Grand Slam at the Masters. With McIlroy ruling the course, he would be the one to be toppled. Marco Penge and Tyrrell Hatton have the opportunity to still defeat Rory McIlroy. This is because only 57.600 points are allotted to the player in last position and 2,000 points to the winner.

McIlroy toppled Penge in Abu Dhabi with 767.02 points. This placed Penge in a position where he must finish at least in a three-way tie for second to secure an opportunity to overtake the Irish golfer.
