However, it has been some time since he was seen on the field. But there are rumors that the golfer will be playing in the 2022 Hero World Challenge. Tiger Woods has been struggling a lot lately due to his injuries owing to the car crash in 2021. The unfortunate accident almost cost him his right leg. And ever since his surgery, the golfer has not been able to fully recover from the pain. However, he has been trying very hard to get back into shape and play professional tournaments again.

The Hero World Challenge this year is one of the most awaited tournaments for all fans. It also contains a long list of PGA Tour superstars who are participating in the tournament. However, Woods’ name is missing from the list. The rumors about him playing in the tournament are not true. However, there are still three slots open for exemptions. And keeping in mind that it is his own tournament, there are chances that he might participate.

On Tuesday, Woods announced the field for his yearly exhibition event. The list contained the best players including 16 players from the top 20 as per the Official World Golf Rankings. Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, and Xander Schauffele are also part of this list. Looking at Woods’ consistent support towards the PGA Tour, there were no LIV Golf players on the list. However, Woods’ own name was missing from the list, and it came as a surprise to many of his fans.

Is Woods fit to compete in professional tournaments?

Fans are always curious about their favorite golfer’s health and fitness. In Woods’ case, the golfer has been through several surgeries in his life. And he has not been able to recover from his recent injury from the car crash. But the question about him being fit for professional tournaments still prevails.

Woods has always preferred walking his way through the 18 holes in any tournament. However, in the recent JP McManus Pro-Am, Woods used a cart to move through the holes. He was trying to rest his legs and avoid putting unnecessary pressure due to the underlying pain. However, he said that he has been working very hard to make sure he is back in his best form as soon as possible. Other sources informed that Woods was spending at least a couple of hours practicing golf and was trying to get back in shape. However, the truth about how fit he is for a tournament will only come out once he is on the field.
