‘It Is Really Frustrating’: Notable Golf YouTuber Once Cleared the Air on His Beef With Paige Spiranac in 2021

Like any other domain, the world of golf is also filled with an end number of social media influencers. But one name that sounds familiar to every golf fan on the Internet is Paige Spiranac. The social media sensation is considered the Queen of golf’s social media space. However, her fame was once criticized by fellow golf social media star Rick Shiels.

Rick Shiels Golf, is widely considered the biggest Golf YouTube Channel with nearly 2.5 million subscribers. Apart from his  YouTube videos, Shiels also hosts the podcast named ‘Rick Shiels Golf Show’. In 2021, during the 73rd episode of the podcast, Sofie Walker, who was invited as the guest had some unpleasant words for Spiranac.

Though she claimed that the social media star was doing much better at the moment than in her initial days, Walker then added that she isn’t a fan of the social media influencer who uses golf to increase her following. A week later, Spiranac had some words for Sofie as well as for Rick Shiels in her podcast, Playing A Round.

Paige Spiranac calls out Rick Shiels

Being the biggest entities in the sport, many may believe that Spiranac and Shiels have had a cold war between them. However, they do maintain a respectful relationship. During the Winners and Wagles episode in 2021 of her podcast, Spiranac talked about her disappointment with Shiels for not defending her while Sofie Walker was talking ill about her.

“It is really frustrating”, said Spiranac while talking about her critics. Though Rick Shiels talked wisely about the former pro golfer, it was his silence during Sofie Walker’s rant on Spiranac that disappointed her. “When you look at the clip, Rick said nothing! Nothing positive about me in the clip. And also nothing negative. He just sat there”, said the 29-year-old.

The 2022 Maxim’s Se*iest Woman Alive also claimed how despite having a good relationship with Shiels previously, he didn’t defend her. “That is what pissed me off the most”, Paige Spiranac added. Her rant about the fellow social media star was understandable.

Nonetheless, a few days later, Rick Shiels finally had a response for Spiranac. Let’s take a look at what British YouTuber had to say.

Shiels responds to Spiranac

In the 75th episode of his golf show, Rick Shiels and his co-host Guy Charnock talked about their uncalled-for feud with Spiranac. While talking about his silence Shiels said, “I sat back and didn’t really say a great deal because it was again not my time to say anything”.

The British YouTuber also talked about how he and Spiranac have exchanged messages in the past and have mutual respect. “I’ve always been outrageously supportive of what she does”, said Shiels before adding that Spiranac makes “golf look cool”. He further added on the former pro’s beautiful golf swing.

In short, Rick Shiels shares the high amount of respect he holds for Paige Spiranac. The beef was nothing but a big misunderstanding among the influencers. Shiels end by saying “Hopefully, that clears the air” and thanks Spiranac for giving him another clickbait worth video. Nonetheless, the current status of the beef between the duo remains unknown.
