Brooks Koepka recently got married to the woman he had been dating for many years, Jena Sims. Sims has been very supportive of Koepka throughout his career and the two dated for a long time before finally saying their vows. However, there was a small misinterpretation of their relationship back in 2017 during the US Open when commentator Joe Buck made a mistake.

Apparently, Buck referred to Jena Sims as Koepka’s old girlfriend, Becky Edwards, at the time. And the news led to a huge controversy for the couple, giving both individuals a hard time to bear with. However, when Sims was asked about how she dealt with the incident, she explained what went on with her.

“My phone LIT up,” Sims said. She said that her friends and family started texting her and asking if everything was okay between the two. And she said, “I was like, It’s OK, life continues. We’re just fine. It was an honest mistake.”

To avoid the controversy that the incident struck, Sims said, “we kinda escaped it. We were in our own little world in Vegas celebrating. So we didn’t really have to experience what the media blew it up to be.”

When asked about how her life has been on the tour, Sims said it was fun! She mentioned how she was lucky to not have a 9-5 job and she could support her husband more often.

“I love being able to support Brooks and watch him because he’s so talented. It’s so much fun to watch him.” Sims said. After the incident, Sims started accompanying the golfer more often than she used to. And now, thankfully, Buck and others have no confusion about who Koepka’s life partner is.
