For LPGA golfer Cheyenne Knight, the number 33 remains special. Cheyenne Knight’s heartfelt connection with number 33

The 26-year-old golfer has had a solitary title on the LPGA Tour before, with the event being the Volunteers of America Classic in her home state of Texas. Additionally, she had shot a score of 33 in each of the final nine rounds, which eventually led to her triumph.

But why does the number remain unforgettable for Knight? Unfortunately, it is because of her late brother, Brandon, who died in a car crash when the golfer was 12. He wore jersey number 33 while playing football in his high school, which prompted Knight to honor her brother at the number’s occurrence.

On being informed of her score at the back nine in the press conference yesterday, Knight was humbled. “Oh, that’s great. It’s always special,” she said of her personal achievement. “I have someone up there watching me always. Yeah, he’s always with me, so it’s nice.”

Having won on the LPGA Tour before, Knight has experience in keeping her cool, ahead of an all-important final round. She claimed that being nervous was part of her emotions, which she politely embraced.

“Yeah, I think nerves are normal. Like I know I’m going to be nervous, and I think just kind of embracing the nerves. I think I’ll be fine. In the morning I’ll be nervous, and I know I will. If you’re not nervous, it doesn’t mean anything to you,” she claimed in her press conference.
