The 29-year-old Paige Spiranac is a retired professional golfer turned social media influencer. She is the most popular golfer on Instagram as she has the most number of followers in the golf community. Grabbing the attention of people online is now part of her job. However, did you know that she once wasn’t comfortable with it at all? 

“I am actually a very shy person, and all of this is overwhelming for me,” Spiranac once stated about the attention she gets online. According to her, she started posting on Instagram for fun. 

“Even when I started receiving all this attention, that’s all it’s really ever been,” she added. “It’s never been about fame.” Spiranac shared her thoughts on being recognized by millions online through a Golf Digest article.

Paige Spiranac never intended to be a social media star!

“It all just kind of happened,” Spiranac stated in her article. While she appreciated the opportunities she got because of social media, the golfer didn’t consider it her passion at the time.

“Golf is an expensive sport,” the aspiring golfer had written in her article. “And this (social media) is my way of helping to pay for it.” Furthermore, she added, “But the goal is still to make it as a player.” 

Paige Renee Spiranac began playing professional golf in 2015 on the Cactus Tour. Notably, she won her only championship on the Cactus Tour at the Orange Tree Country Club, Scottsdale. Furthermore, after not being able to make a cut at an event in Dubai in 2016, the golfer decided to quit her career. 

Spiranac’s career as a social media influencer

Spiranac started posting pictures and shot tricks videos on social media when she was in college. To her utmost surprise, the videos went viral. 

Years later, when she couldn’t make a career in professional golfing, Spiranac chose to be a full-time social media influencer. She now posts opinion videos, golf instruction videos, and other exciting content on the Internet to entertain her followers. As a result, Spiranac has more than 10 million followers across all social media platforms. 

Recently, Maxim magazine named her the Sexiest Woman Alive in 2022. Notably, Spiranac is the first athlete to take the no. 1 spot on the magazine’s top 100 list.
