The 2022 U.S. Women’s Open is all set to begin today. Moreover, there are plenty of prominent names on the field since this is a major championship event. We will be witnessing golfers like Nelly Korda, Ko Jin-young, Annika Sorenstam, Lexi Thompson, etc. Furthermore, fans are excited to watch Sorenstam return to playing competitive golf after a long time this week.
The 51-year-old golfer has won the U.S. Women’s Open thrice in her career so far. However, there is an issue for which the fans are furious over the USGA. According to the senior golf writer Beth Ann Nichols, there is no live coverage or streaming of the group for the first round.

She wrote, “You also need to know that Annika tees off at 8:50 am. EDT tomorrow, alongside Swedish amateur Ingrid Lindblad, ranked No.2 in the world, and former USWO champ So Yeon Ryu. No live TV or streaming for her group, though, sadly.”
Furthermore, legendary women’s golfer Annika Sorenstam is competing in her 16th U.S. Women’s Open, the first since 2008. However, there might be a telecast of Sorenstam’s second round, since it starts late in the afternoon on Friday during the broadcasting hours.
Therefore, fans won’t be able to watch the 51-year-old’s round on Thursday, and the disappointment of not watching Sorenstam has made many fans furious. Here’s how the fans reacted after the news broke out earlier today.
The golf world reacts to the ‘no live’ coverage of Annika Sorenstam at the 2022 U.S. Women’s Open
It’s ridiculous that @golfchannel is showing a DP World tour event Thursday morning when they could show live @usga @uswomensopen coverage.

This really is sad. There are so many fans of high quality golf that would tune in to watch the best in the world. Hope this changes in the future. @LPGA @GolfChannel

If the rounds are slow they might be able to show her last hole or two when coverage starts at 1:00 EDT. There will be 6 or 7 hours of live coverage each of the four days, so that's not bad.

I’m rooting for Annika this week for several reasons.
One reason is so Phil will no longer be the oldest golfer to win a major championship. 😂
