Phil Mickelson admitted getting ‘beat up’ by Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is one of the most successful players that has ever played on course. The 15-time major winner is responsible for making golf a globally loved sport due to his performance in any given tournament. However, Mickelson has worked equally hard to polish his golfing skills and make a name for himself.

But the golfer has been very thankful to Tiger Woods for bringing the best out of him on the field. Mickelson often talks about how Woods is the reason that every other golfer, including Lefty, had to push their limits. And that is why Mickelson thinks he has been able to play his “best golf”.

He also admitted in 2012 how he was “beat up” for a long time before he could actually reach his potential. “Although he brings out the best in me, it’s only been the last five years. Before, I got spanked pretty good.” Mickelson said“So let’s not forget the big picture here, I’ve been beat up.” Mickelson also said that playing along with Woods helps him learn and understand various aspects of the game. “I’ve played some of my best golf playing with him. And I really enjoy it,” he said.

Mickelson explained how he had benefited from Woods

The golfer has been very vocal about how Woods has left a great impact on his game throughout the years. And during his comments about what Woods had done for the game of golf, he admitted how he benefited from the player the most. Mickelson said“I don’t think anybody has benefited more from what he’s done for the game than myself”. He also said that he was very appreciative of what Woods had meant for golf since the beginning of his career.
