John Daly has been on the receiving end of criticisms over his failed marriages for most of his professional career. The 2-time Major Championship winner has himself lamented about the lack of companionship during the peak of his golfing prowess. Several of Daly’s attempts at saving his marriage have gone futile, but by his own admission, ‘Long John’ made vital efforts in order to save his fourth marriage with Sherrie Miller.

Indeed, the marriage lasted longer than any of John’s other marriages. The couple married in 2001 and remained together till 2007. Amid controversies surrounding their wedlock, Daly was upbeat and continued to stick by his wife’s side. “I hope we’ll stay together forever,” he once said.

Daly also spoke about the experiences of being in a marriage in the past, which had helped him cope with the challenges faced during his fourth marriage. “No question about it, I’ve come close to the edge a lot of times,” he said. “I’ve been my worst enemy. But I think I’ve got a better handle on things now. I think I’m better off dealing with what’s here, what’s now, so that I’ll be ready to deal with whatever tomorrow brings.”

What transpired between John Daly and Sherrie Miller?

After two failed marriages, Daly seemed to have found his perfect life partner in Sherrie after the couple remained together for over five years after their wedlock. However, it all spiraling down after Miller reportedly attacked Daly with a steak knife ahead of that week’s Stanford St. Jude Championship, held, ironically, in Memphis.

While Daly hasn’t married since his nuptials with Miller, that is not to say he hasn’t been with another woman. During the last days of their marriage, the 1991 PGA Championship winner met Anna Cladakis, and the two have been together ever since.

After a sea of unsuccessful marriages, it looks like Daly is at ease with avoiding any oaths for the time being. But with Daly being Daly, it won’t be surprising to read anything about a marriage in the near future.
