Tiger Woods recently played one of the worst rounds of his life at the 2022 PGA Championship. He carded 79 and remained +9 for the day and +12 for the event on Saturday. It was disappointing for everyone watching this debacle of the legendary golfer. However, this was understandable, as Tiger was in severe pain, and his body wasn’t moving freely.

Additionally, the weather at Tulsa made it worse as the temperatures dropped and the conditions were overcast. Moreover, the winds picked up the pace, and hence the conditions were challenging. Therefore, we saw plenty of golfers struggling along with Tiger Woods. Hence, plenty of them showed empathy towards Woods.

Legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus, recently revealed that he did not watch Tiger’s round yesterday. According to Ryan Lavner, Jack told on ESPN’s Manningcast that he did not watch Tiger’s round yesterday because he was at Augusta National playing his first rounds of the year. Furthermore, he also revealed his grandson made an albatross on 15, which is a par-5 hole, with a driver and an 8-iron.
Tiger Woods withdraws from the 2022 PGA Championship
Tiger Woods literally dragged himself through 18-holes in the third round. His pain and struggle were completely visible. As a result, he decided to continue and not leave the game halfway. However, soon after he finished his round, talks were going on that Woods might withdraw from the event as he decided to skip the post-round interviews.

But after a while, there was a message from Tiger’s camp that he won’t be able to continue his fight and will be withdrawing from the final round. His performance in the third round was one of the worst, with seven bogeys, a double bogey, and a birdie. Moreover, this was the first time in his career that he carded five consecutive bogeys.
Furthermore, as he has aggravated his injury, the chances of Tiger competing at the upcoming major, the 2022 U.S. Open, is minimal. Additionally, he would be thinking of preserving himself for the 150th Open at St. Andrews, which is his favorite golf course in the world.

Therefore, to compete in the Open Woods needs to get back his fitness, as the weather conditions there won’t be favorable to his body. The strong winds and chillness in the atmosphere would require him to be at his best when it comes to his fitness. But when it comes to Tiger Woods, one can’t predict anything. So, it will be interesting to see how the 15-time major championship winner goes ahead with his schedule.
