Barbara Nicklaus, the Golden Bears’ wife won the highest honor in the state of Florida on Friday. She received the Florida Governor’s Medal of Freedom for her contribution to children well being in the state of Florida. As a result, became the second recipient of the award.

Governor Ron DeSantis highlighted that more than $150 million were raised by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation to support projects not only in Florida or US but as well as, over 120 countries globally. She received this medal during a special ceremony at the PGA National Resort and Spa- Champions course at the Honda Classic.

The 18-time major championship winner wrote a beautiful message for his wife. He posted a heartwarming acknowledgment on his official Instagram account for his wife. It said, “Very proud of and happy for my wife, Barbara. She deserves every honor she receives. To be recognized at thehondaclassic by flgovrondesantis and the State of Florida is very special. Congratulations Barbara, I love you!” Truly, Barbara is an inspiration for all.

Nicklaus’ wife spoke some beautiful words after receiving the medal. She said, “I’ve always been so proud of him and I guess in turn I wanted him to be proud of me,” “Early in our marriage, we decided if we were in a position to help anyone, we wanted it to be children.” She added, “What we do for ourselves, dies with us. What we do for others in the world, remains immortal.”
