Daly scored six birdies over his 36 holes. The golfer was playing on a sponsor’s exemption and was trying his best not to disappoint his fans. But his game couldn’t stay on track for a long time. Instead, Daly had to face a rather embarrassing defeat due to an opening of back-to-back double bogeys. Long John was already 5 over after the first four holes in his round.

John Daly returned after the blood-spinning procedure

It had been a long time since Daly was going through his ‘knock knee’. As per experts, if not treated, the condition can cause severe joint damage, and can even result in knee arthritis. However, Daly has now returned to the field after going through a rare blood-spinning procedure.

The procedure involved taking blood from the golfer’s hip, giving it a spin in the centrifuge, and then re-injecting it into his left knee.

It wasn’t new for Daly since he already went through the procedure for his right knee. The surgery was necessary for the golfer since he had to withdraw from the recent Sanford International tournament due to knee discomfort. When asked about why he opted for the complicated procedure instead of the planned surgery, he said he wanted to be there for Jimmy and Tabitha.
