John Daly gives his views on social media

Daly was in a pre-tournament press conference at the Shaw Charity Classic last week. A reporter asked him about what his views on social media were. The reporter also mentioned how Daly used to have a completely different profile earlier, but now he is seen “driving golf balls across a freeway into football fields”.

Daly, being the carefree man he is, replied in his own manner. “I think it’s great,” he said. “Some people that don’t get to come to watch you play or something like that. And plus for business, it’s great for business as well. I think it gets a little out of hand sometimes, but I think it’s great for everybody. I think it’s saved a lot of people’s lives, for one thing.”

Daly gets candid about golfers joining LIV Golf

The reporters continued to ask questions until one of them began with the most expected one. The media wanted Long John’s views on “world’s top golfers leaving the PGA and joining the league in Saudi Arabia,”. But Daly has been honest with his answers, as far as his fans believe, during all interviews.

He replied, “I think you have a family, you want to raise that family to the best of your ability. If they’re going to give that much money, hell, I would have done it.”. According to previous interviews, Daly said he once “begged” in front of Greg Norman to join LIV Golf, but it didn’t work.

Daly repeated what he said earlier about his wish for the tours to come together and work things out. He also said that LIV Golf is trying to “help grow the game of golf” if it’s looked at from an entertainment perspective. However, that’s not how the world is looking at it. People are not ready to just forget about the alleged Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks and find LIV Golf entertaining.

Daly also stated that the players are joining in for the money. “The money…that’s why the guys are leaving,” he said. However, he still wishes that Jay Monahan and Greg Norman work out a deal together and make things easy for the players. But at this point, an agreement between the two rival tours seems impossible.
