Joining the former champions at Valhalla, John Daly would be teeing up at his first major of the year. The 1991 PGA Championship winner has landed in Louisville, Kentucky to play for the Wanamaker trophy after missing the event in 2023. Since 2014, Daly has missed the cut for every PGA Championship.

His run at the championship has been forgetful. But to not repeat the part, the 5-time PGA Tour winner has had a change of bag and will be using all his clubs to their limits to market the cut this time!

What clubs are in John Daly’s bag?

Last year, at the 2023 PNC Championship, John Daly was using the Callaway Paradygm driver, however, after four months the 58-year-old has switched it to PING. Daly doesn’t necessarily have any deal with an equipment company thus his bag has a variety of clubs. Starting with the driver Daly has chosen for the PGA Championship is the PING G430 LST with 9 degrees of loft.

He equips it with the Newton Motion 6-Dot shaft, which the club retails for $579.99 on PGA Tour SuperStore. With the PING exclusive spinsistency technology and the Carbon Fly Wrap, the G430 driver covers longer distances and gives optimal spin.

The next club in the 5-time PGA Tour winner’s bag is the 3-wood which is the PING G430 LST. However, it has a 15-degree loft and is paired up with the Newton Motion 4-Dot shaft. The fairway wood is better for faster players and doesn’t give much spin to the ball on impact. The shots are sharper from the fairways. This club sells for $549.99.

Following the 3-wood, Daly uses the hybrids from time to time and has three such clubs in his bag. The 58-year-old stuck with PING G430 and uses the 2-hybrid (17°), 4-hybrid (22°), and 5-hybrid (26°) with True Temper Dynamic Gold shaft. The club is equipped with innovative technologies and the tungsten weight provides forgiveness and optimum speed to approach the greens. Per club, it costs $299.

Iron, wedges, and putter

Last year, Daly entered the PNC Championship with Sub70’s 659-CB (6-PW) irons, which are $750 per set. Although he loved the clubs, Daly explained that there was no money involved or any deal made with the equipment brand. However, this time, he has customized the irons with the Daly flair.

The irons now have the engraved signature of Daly with the lion logo, to represent him. Not just that, The 2-time major winner has also customized the wedges. He uses the Sub70 Tommy Armour III in 50, 54, and 60 degrees, with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shaft. They also the University of Arkansas Razorbacks logo where he and his son went to college. The gear sells for $125 per club.

Lastly, Daly has sufficed with the Odyssey Ai-One Milled T CH putter pairing it with the SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 grip for the 106th PGA Championship. This putter ensures consistent ball speed for even missed shots. It goes for $499. With his upgraded bag, will John Daly make the PGA Championship cut in Valhalla? It remains to be seen.
