John Daly Once Passed Out and Went to Jail After a Wild Night of Intoxication

By now, it’s quite clear that John Daly somehow always ends up being a part of a little controversy. And as much as he might try to stray clear, they just seem to be following him everywhere! However, the one time he deeply regretted his actions was when he was found passed out at Hooters and spent a night in jail.
Now, for those of you who don’t know, John Daly’s love for Hooters is absolutely insane; more than what you’ll ever imagine. So much so that he has a lucrative endorsement with the franchise!

However, in 2008, John Daly was found drunk and passed out at one of the chains of the restaurant. When the police came in, he was found to be “extremely intoxicated and uncooperative,” and thus, had to spend a night behind bars.

While Hooters chose not to comment on the situation, deadspin conducted a poll amongst their users to see what they thought of the company dropping Daly. A whopping 84% of users thought they wouldn’t and, well, luckily for Daly, they didn’t!
John Daly shares concerns over dragging Hooters into his mess
Meanwhile, spending a night in jail was not the 2-time major champions biggest worry. No, attracting negative attention to his favourite brand was. Now that’s devotion, isn’t it? Talking to GOLF.com, he admitted that Hooters would “probably have to terminate me because of the negative publicity.”
He expressed his regret for the negative light that it put his favorite restaurant in and said, “I’ve never had an incident at Hooters. I hate that their name is brought into it this way.”

Moreover, the public associates better with his honesty and relatable lifestyle, rather than being a model of truth. ESPN once asked him the reason for his fan appeal, despite his dwindling level on the tour. He explained, “I’ve been honest with a lot of the problems I’ve had in life. Everybody has problems. They can relate to that.”
