John Daly on drinking beers in a PGA Tour event

Daly is quite a charismatic character and has been in news more off the course rather than on the course. He enjoys living a lavish lifestyle and enjoys his life to the fullest. However, he is a very nice golfer and has a beautiful golf swing. Daly is quite famous for his liking for gambling.

In the 30 for 30 ESPN documentary ‘Hit It Hard’, he admitted the losses he incurred due to gambling. He said, “We figured I lost about $98 million and won about $45 million gambling,” Daly said in the documentary. “So, yeah, I lost around $50 million.”

John loves to have alcohol off the course but says he has consumed alcohol only once in a PGA Tour event. In the documentary ‘Hit It Hard’ Daly said, “I never had any alcohol on the golf course that I remember, except for one time, and that was the L.A. Open,”. “It was so slow and I played the back nine first. I think I’m two or three over. I went in the locker room and downed like five beers, and I think I shot four under on the front nine. That is the only time I know that I ever drank during a round, and I played great. I played great that week. I finished strong.” 

Daly wins the PNC Championship

The father-son duo of John Daly and John Patrick Daly II won the 2021 PNC Championship in emphatic style with an overall score of 27 under par for the tournament.
