There haven’t been crazier golfers on the PGA circuit than John Daly. The 2-time major championship winner was controversial for his drinking and smoking antics on the course, which often landed him in trouble. Worryingly, it also jeopardized his health, which inadvertently puts a question mark on his career.

Even though the 56-year-old has been concerned about his health of late, he hardly cared back in the day. Indeed, long-time friend, Pat Perez, once revealed a ridiculous story about Daly, in which the latter was willing to drink after suffering from a stroke.

John Daly has a crazy night, as revealed by Pat Perez

The pair of veteran golfers were drinking buddies during their golf days together, with Perez once recalling an absurd story involving Daly. The LIV golfer described the incident on the ‘Fore The People podcast’ a couple of years ago.

Apparently, Perez had invited Daly to binge drink at his place, which went south after some time. The 64-year-old revealed he had lost Daly after some drinks, and after 45 minutes of searching, found Daly cramped up in a corner.

“He had a stroke at my house. I couldn’t find him, I was looking for this mother****** for like 45 minutes,” Perez told on the podcast. “Go around the house, and I finally see him around the f***ing corner and I’m like ‘John, where the hell are you at?’”

Thankfully, Daly hadn’t passed out, but his answer was more chilling. “He said ‘Oh bubba, I’m having a f***ing stroke,’” Perez revealed.

Perez reveals Daly’s request after visiting a hospital

Still in his senses to understand the gravity of the situation, Perez immediately called up an ambulance and rushed Daly to the hospital. After the troubles were put to hold, the lifesaver went back home, only to get a call from Daly in the morning.

“I go home, wake up and get a call from John saying I need to go pick them up from the hospital,” Perez said. “It was like 10:30 in the morning, only like six hours later.”

A surprise was awaiting Perez, who caught Daly smoking outside the hospital whilst waiting for him. He had a request, too. “He was outside smoking when I get to the hospital. He gets inside the car and goes ‘bubba, I need a f***ing drink,’” Perez revealed.

“I go ‘no, that’s actually the last thing you need.’” But guess what happened later? “We get back to the house, and he’s drinking,’” said Perez.
