When one thinks of John Daly, one thinks of a larger-than-life and dynamic personality, both on and off the course. The golfer has gained fame with the way he has handled his career. However, many remain unaware of Daly’s ongoing cancer struggles. His habits and preferences have remained the same.

In a recent interview, Daly did open up about his struggle with cancer, and how his treatment has been going on.

While on the FULL SEND PODCAST, Daly spoke of his beef with PGA Tour legend Tiger Woods, and his battle against cancer. Even if Daly’s illness is not under the wraps by any means, the whole ordeal is less talked about.

Even so, Daly continues to play with bladder cancer, continuing his treatment plan along the way. “The problem is the tumors big, so on has been great. I mean, I got Dr. Ball here in Tampa. He’s awesome,” Daly explained. “So I go every six months to get checkups now instead of every three months. Do it for five more years”.

Thankfully, his cancer is benign right now. Daly admitted that he needed chemo the first two times, while the recent two times it has been benign. They even discussed a cure for cancer, which Daly thinks exists. However, it is clearly not available to everyone now. The hosts agreed, not wanting small kids with advanced stages of cancer to suffer.

What treatment is Daly following?

Daly also spoke of his treatment, and how they have him tested every few months. It is a painful method that does take a toll on him one way or another. However, he has gotten better now.

“They put a catheter in me, right in my you-know-what. They put a camera in there. And if they need to treat it, they put a jigsaw in there and cut it out. It sucks,” he added. “And then you – when you pee for seven to 14 days, it hurts. It hurts. But my cancer, I’m lucky that it was caught real quick”.

Months ago, he was puking and peeing blood, thankful that his cancer has now been detected. Daly apparently found one good doctor that helped him out, asking him to come back for more tests.

Daly last played the PNC Championship, winning with his son.
