It was a miracle that Daly got a chance to play at the PGA Championship in 1991. He was the 9th and final alternate of the field and got the chance to compete. Nevertheless, Daly won the tournament with a three-shot lead from Bruce Lietzke.

Since he was the last time addition, he didn’t even get to hit balls in the practice round. However, Daly scored 69-67-69-71 in the four rounds and won the tournament with an overall under-par score.
