Does Kevin Kisner look like a guy in his mid-40s? Jordan Spieth, definitely, thought so. Kisner, after letting his whetted tongue fly on the NBC booth, is obviously, the talk of the Golf X (formerly Twitter). Spieth, let’s not forget, was the first victim. But now that the golf pro is free from worrying over three-foot putts, he has the time to give one back to his buddy.

Kisner will be in the booths again at the Phoenix Open, next month. But he insisted that his playing days were not over. Spieth, who sat with Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz on the SiriusXM podcast, after the Sentry, said he couldn’t believe that his buddy was still ‘young’ enough to think of his playing days.

From Chirs Kirk’s victory to Jordan Spieth’s comeback, the first Signature event has quite a few headlines. Although Kevin Kisner was not present on the greens, his razor-sharp verbal chops from the NBC booth made sure that his name was uttered in the same breath as his colleagues.

The University of Georgia alum has made abundantly clear that he has no plan to hang up his golf clubs. Not yet. No matter how well his verbal flair makes him a suitable candidate for the job, or how lucrative the paycheck looks. Kisner’s place is on the greens. Spieth was asked about what he thinks of Kisner’s golf career because Kisner is just 39 and he has a good few years left for him, right?

Well, Jordan Spieth was shocked. Shocked that Kevin Kisner was just 39. “He is only 39? That’s shocking to me,” quipped the 13-time PGA Tour winner. How old did he think Kisner was? Mid-40s, for sure. “I’m way off in my head. Definitely in his mid-40s.”

Spieth’s subtle dig comes after Kisner roasted the three-time Major winner for dallying over a three-foot birdie. But all Kisner did was unleash his “little brain & big mouth” at the 2024 Sentry.

Kevin Kisner had five-word advice for Spieth

At par 5, 15th Spieth was faced with a dilemma. A three-foot putt. Putt that he knows how to roll in but has consistently missed for the last two seasons because of too laborious routine. This time as well, the 30-year-old, after much deliberation, missed the putt as the ball lipped out of the hole.

Kisner, who keenly observed his every move, also heard him blaming wind, slope, and grain on the greens for the miss. “That’s 3 feet Jordan. Just knock it in, bud,” was Kisner’s sharp riposte from the booth. Spieth, though, showed a glimpse of what once made him a force to be reckoned with. The Dallas native finished third two shots behind winner Chris Kirk.
