Jordan Spieth is the 2022 RBC Heritage champion, and he has won his 13th career PGA Tour title. Both of his last two wins had come on Easter, the last one being the 2021 Valero Texas Open. But little do we know about his past struggles.

He was quoted as saying ” you know, you have a lot of events where you feel like you should have won and someone outplays you or makes the putt or something, and a couple of times you have one where you feel like you played good but not good enough to win, and I honestly felt like this was that week.”

Jordan Spieth had some near misses in the past, like in June of 2021, when he finished in a tie for 2nd at the AT & T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and 2nd at the Open Championship in July 2021. And not to forget he missed the cut at an event next to his heart, the Masters. The frustration of missing the cut at the Masters was carried forward at the RBC Heritage.

Swing changes of Jordan Spieth

He mentioned via ASAP Sports that he had been working on every aspect of his game, and putting a lot of effort into his full swing. Sources tell us that he has reverse-engineered his swing. Which comes with its challenges. He is doing everything he can to get back to the form that we saw in 2015-16. Chiefly, in 2015, he made $31 million, just at the age of 22.

A four-time major winner like him is a player of pure grit and perseverance and we have no doubt he will regain his form of 2015-16. Players at a world-class level have to deal with the loss of form, but that does not mean they give up. They do everything they can to regain that form, and Jordan Spieth is showing signs of finding his lost form back with his win at the RBC Heritage.

Talking about missing the cut for the Masters, Spieth painfully expanded on the feeling and was candid fro

 “It was very — I never missed a cut at the Masters before and very rarely had not had a chance to win on the weekend. So I hated it. It was the worst feeling. It was the worst feeling as a golfer that I can remember.”

Though he missed the cut at this year’s Masters, there is PGA Championship up for grabs. It’s the only major that he needs to win to join the elite group of 5 players who had won all four majors. Those players are Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.

Well, Spieth has a lot to play for this year as he is ranked 9th in the OWGR rankings, with the remainder of the season left to play. We wish him all the very best in his journey to becoming a grand slam champion.
